Oops!: A Haibun

English is a language that contains many slang expressions. Native speakers such as myself readily comprehend these expressions, since we grew up hearing them. Those who learned English as a second language, however, can easily misunderstand slang. I found that out the hard way. I simply asked him to clean up his messy room — and now I’ll have to shell out big bucks to a contractor.
