Trump has the Senate, House, Supreme Court and his staff will consist of sycophants. The GOP has been purged of anyone who would stand up to him. He will have NO restraints.

Kamala ran on a platform that promised “We’re not going back.” Unfortunately, a majority of voters indeed wanted to go back. Way, way back.

Trump came across as equal parts aspiring tyrant and buffoon, even to the extent of talking about a dead golfer’s junk at a rally, and still triumphed yesterday.

I don’t blame any of you for considering departure from the USA. I, however, intend to stay and fight for justice, equality, democracy and science. I’m too old to move and love my book shop, which is located in an Underground Railroad site.

John J. Dunphy’s poetry collections include Old Soldiers Fading Away, Zen Koanhead, Touching Each Tree, pagan rites, Bullet Cluster, Stellar Possibilities and Dark Nebulae. He is also the author of non-fiction works such as Unsung Heroes of the Dachau Trials: The Investigative Work of the U.S. Army 7708 War Crimes Group, 1945–1947. He owns the The Second Reading Book Shop in Alton, IL, USA
